Fabric inspections usually check the following items:
- Quantity of fabrics ready to be.
- Shipping marks/labels/inventory stickers, and packing method.
- Quality for conformance to technical parameters and specifications.
- Cuttable width, and actual piece length comparing with label length.
- GSM of fabric, which is actual fabric weight per unit.
- Color shading: side-center-side, end to end, piece to piece, lot to lot.
- Hand feel.
- Any abnormal odor.
- Visual defects by 4-Point System on appearance of fabric rolls/pieces.
After inspection:
- We'll calculate defect points and grade inspected fabric rolls/pieces.
- You'll receive an expertise inspection report with digital images.
** According to different purpose, fabric inspection contents may vary and cover part of above items.
DQC adopts Four-Point System as a standardized methods for fabric Visually Inspecting and Grading, unless others method (such as Ten-Point System) required.
Four-Point System, as a standard under ASTM D5430, has received widest acceptance in fabric inspection due to its practical, impartial, and worldwide recognized. In four-point system, defect in both warp or fill direction is assigned points under the following criteria:
1 point – Defects ≤ 3″
2 points – Defects > 3″ ≤ 6″
3 points – Defects > 6″ ≤ 9″
4 points – Defects > 9″
Any defect of a continuous nature shall be assigned four points for each yard in which it occurs. Severe defects are assigned the maximum four points for each yard in which they occur. Example: regardless of size, hole would be penalized four points.

FAQ:
HOW MANY DAYS IN ADVANCE SHOULD I PLACETHE BOOKING ?
Inspection booking should be at least 2 days before you desired inspection date. The earlier you place the booking, the better inspector(s) could be appointed for your shipment(s).
Inspection booking less than 2 days can also be arranged as exception case instead of regular practice, but too late booking is often difficult to be scheduled due to all our inspectors occupied.
CAN SUPPLIERS / FACTORIES BOOK FORBUYERS ?
Yes, both you and your suppliers/factories are same welcome to book any inspection.
Actually, many of our customers book inspections by their suppliers/factories because the suppliers/factories know more accurate date for inspection than their customers.
